FillIn ("the app") is a language-learning application. This policy explains what data the app processes and how. FillIn is designed to keep your data on your device. The developer does not operate any server that receives your personal data and does not collect, store, or receive any of your personal data.
The following is stored locally on your device only and is never sent to the developer:
The app has no accounts, no login, and no registration. This data is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
FillIn can help you build exercises by generating a text prompt for you. This prompt may include selected items from your learning profile (such as your native language, learning goals and level) so the exercises fit your needs. The app only prepares this text on your device — it does not send it anywhere. If you choose to use it, you copy the prompt yourself into a separate AI tool or website of your choice (outside FillIn), and then paste the resulting exercises back into FillIn as JSON. Any use of an external AI tool is your own action and is governed by that tool's own privacy policy and terms. FillIn itself does not transmit your data to any AI provider.
FillIn may let you download additional language content packs from the developer's static hosting. These downloads only send a standard request to retrieve the content — no personal data or learning profile information is included in the request. Downloaded packs are stored locally on your device.
If you use the pronunciation (text-to-speech) feature, the relevant text is passed to your device's built-in text-to-speech engine, provided by your operating system. This processing is handled by your device/OS and is governed by your device manufacturer's and operating system's policies.
None. FillIn does not include analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services, and the developer has no backend that receives your data.
The developer does not sell or share your data with anyone. FillIn does not send your personal data off your device. If you choose to copy a generated prompt into an external AI tool (section 2), that transfer is initiated and carried out by you, outside the app.
FillIn is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your data is stored on your device. Any content downloaded by the app is retrieved over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
